AVE high-speed train will connect Madrid with Orihuela, Elche and Murcia from December 20.
The new AVE service between Madrid and Murcia takes 2 hours 45 minutes with four connections a day, two in each direction. The high-speed trains depart and arrive in Madrid at Chamartín Clara Campoamor station and have stops in Orihuela and Elche.
However, there are also four connections a day linking Madrid and Murcia with stops in Orihuela, Elche, Alicante, Villena, Albacete and Cuenca. This journey takes 3 hours and 25 minutes with the AVE high-speed train stopping and departing at Puerta de Atocha station in Madrid.
As always, Renfe is committed to punctuality on AVE trains, refunding 50% of the fare for delays between 15 and 30 minutes and 100% for delays exceeding 30 minutes.
