People regularly ask me what ‘daily life’ costs in Spain and how much cheaper that is compared to other countries. That is of course a very personal item, because how does someone live, what is luxury and what is normal ‘standard’?

The English website Numbeo has built up an extensive database to compare all kinds of things. This comparison can be carried out between countries, but also between cities, so that it can be viewed and researched very specifically.
Of course not all villages and hamlets are in their database, but you can choose a nearby larger town to make your own comparison.

To make your own comparison, fill in
1) your current place of residence in (or a nearby larger town if your town/city is not recognised)
2) enter the place you wish to compare with and then click on ‘compare’, after which you will see an overview of the comparison.
