From early January to late June 2022, foreigners again bought more properties in Spain with an increase not seen in Spain since 2008, according to the Colegio de Registradores de la Propiedad.
In total, 328,208 homes were sold in the first six months of this year, of which 45,667 were bought by foreigners. This means a market share of 13.9% for properties bought by foreigners. Please note that these are figures for the whole of Spain. You will quickly understand that the number of purchases by foreigners on the Costas is extremely high.
In the first half of the pre-Covid year 2019, 32,540 homes were purchased in Spain by foreigners. Compared to now in 2022, that was 22% less.

The foreigners are increasingly finding their way to the Spanish Costas, that is certainly no secret, this phenomenon has been going on for years.
However, it is important to note that the purchases of properties by foreigners are still increasing strongly today. These numbers prove that Spain has become a favorite and internationally famous holiday destination.
