The popular Spanish series ‘Alba’ (Netflix) was recorded in Finestrat and Villajoyosa, among others.
The Valencian coasts were the main setting for the Atresmedia production which is now a hit on Netflix.
Costa Blanca north has unique landscapes that make it a great candidate for filming series and movies. On this occasion, the ‘Alba’ series is mainly set in the municipalities of Altea, Benidorm, Villajoyosa and Finestrat.
The fiction tells the story of a young woman who is sexually abused by four boys on a night out.
The first season consists of thirteen episodes and is now available on Netflix.
In ‘Alba’ the outdoor scenes were a.o. recorded on the beach of Bol Nou (Villajoyosa) and on the beach of Finestrat. The beach or bay of Bol Nou is located in the town of Villajoyosa. It is a small enclave between two cliffs. The turquoise water invites you to snorkel in the cliff areas, just two km from the city.
La Cala de Finestrat is close to Villajoyosa and Benidorm. The bay is notable for the Xoriguer, a large rocky ridge at one end of the bay. Aside from the spectacular views and calm waters, the bay offers a variety of services as well as a children’s playground, a variety of restaurants and shops in the area.
